This is called "talk-off" and it is a potential problem with any inband signalling system.
My guess is that the Grandstream is prepared to detect shorter tones than the Digium card/Asterisk.
If you can configure them for inband signalling doing so will push the problem onto Asteisk, which might be more configurable, even if the card was doing the actual detection, before.
